Some CNBC employees have private stock advisory services.?

Does this practice seem ethical ?

    I believe that you are referring to how CNBC has a show where pundits, specifically Jim Cramer, discuss their views on specific stocks and how various employees may be offering a stock tip alert service for profit based upon advanced information of what stock will be promoted on an upcoming show. It's certainly unethical but it isn't regulated. Sorry to burst your bubble but much of what happens in the world isn't ethical.

    CNBC is owned by NBC Universal which is owed 80% by General Electric & 20% by Vivendi Entertainment....

    So your question is, "Is it ethical that NBC Universal offers some employees private stock advisory services as part of thier benefits package?"

    - sure, it's ethical to offer. The employee can decide to use the service or not...
