The Eastern Pacific hurricane season starts officially on May 15, 2011 and the Atlantic season begins on May 30. Only four hurricanes have been predicted so far on the Pacific coast of Mexico yet researchers predict higher than normal hurricane activity in the Atlantic. Nevertheless we seem to get the most hurricanes in Mexico between August and October.

When I travel to Mexico I always go in July! It is hurricane season but out of all the times I have traveled to Mexico (which has been all my life) I never experienced a hurricane while I was there. There may be a few thunderstorms now and then, but other than that..the weather isn't bad! I went to Puerto Vallarta last July and the weather was great! There was only 2 days when it stormed. So i'd say July is a pretty safe time to go to Mexico, at least for me it was :)

Have fun if you go! :)

The only areas that Hurricanes are a real concern is the Cozumel/Cancun area . It seems August and September have the most hurricanes .
