If there is no evidence that lowering a person's Blood pressure benefits them, why attempt to lower bp?

I cannot find any data or evidence that suggests lowering a person's bp benefits them in any way. Why do physicians continue to prescribe medications which do no good other than giving a lower bp reading?

High Blood pressure NO evidence? Hypertension plays roles in MI's and Angina , Hypertension in Diabetics causes many more issues then diabetics who control they're blood pressure .. also Blood pressure has a direct Co-relation with stroke and also aneurysms which are Caused when they internal layers in arteries separate and eventually the force tears the artery open (Often the Aorta due to the size of the vessel) To be honest, If all your looking at is Yahoo answers that could be the reason.. While you Might feel Physicians are all out to make money from drug companies, lets be realistic You have folks here with Pre hypertension blowing off what is correct, as well our diets are made up of extreme levels of sodium to preserve the food.. 80% of the population chooses sugary Crap to drink rather then water, Before you realize it a "borderline hypertensive" becomes Full Blow Hypertensive and is feeling poor and then decides its time to see a doctor and make me feel better Doctor OMG.... by then he is working against 30 years OF I don't give a crap attitudes... come on...
