I really like Hal Higdon's training programs. Here's his beginner program, which is very good for people who are doing their first 10K:

Or, if you're feeling more ambitious & are up for some speed work & tempo runs, here's his intermediate plan:

The main thing is to be consistent about your training. If you do that and eat reasonably well, 9 weeks should be plenty of time for you to get ready to run a strong 10K.

    Good luck! :)

marathons are 26.2 miles not 10km lol.

try running around 12 per day with 1 rest day per week. 2 weeks before you should run two 10ks to see where youre at and so you know the distances. Make sure all your training is outside cos thats where you will be running! for the last week of training do nothing apart from a 1-2k really light jog the day before the race to check everything is in working order

Hi.10k is not a marathon. It's a race. A marathon is consisted of 26 miles. A 1/2 marathon is consisted of 13.1 miles. 10k is just around 6 miles.I did provide a schedule that you can try to follow for the 10k race.Click the link in my sources. Make sure you do listen to music while running the race.

    General Tips:

    Good Diet

    Drink Lots of Water

Build up your endurance. If you are not able to even do a 10k right now without stopping, then that is probably a good idea. Go on distance runs, rest every now and then, search workouts online.

You should start running at least 4-5 times per week. Increase the distance you run steadily so you are able to run the full distance on race day. That's all you really need to be able to do.
