in the World Series, whose record did he break? Its really an easy one for old timers like me, you will show your age if you don't "google" it!
Thank you "Chipmaker" for pointing out that I am a "dofus", its no wonder that you are a "Top Contributor" and I am not.....you made my day by getting me off to a great start with your comments...I appreciate your input and will do all I can from now on to be more accurate in the future!!

Ford broke Ruth's record of 29.1 innings and ended up with 33.2 innings.
Ford and The Giants Christy Matthewson are tied with 4 World Series shutouts.
Matthewson had 3 shutouts in the 1905 World Series for most in one Series.
The consecutive post season shutout record is held by the Yankees Mariano Rivera.
but they didn't have a playoff system when Ford and Matthewson pitched.
I just thought I would add my 2 cents worth because I am tired of Chipmaker getting
all the Glory.

Hint: leaving out a key word, like, oh, maybe "consecutive", can and often does completely change the complexion or context of a trivia question. Sometimes is really messes things up, and then the asker looks like a doofus. Don't be that guy.
The answer to the properly worded question is, yes, Babe Ruth, who had a World Series scoreless innings streak of 29 or so.
