Why is my internet speed not what my ISP says it is?

I have the 6Mbps package. I go to internet speed tests and it comes up at about 2Mbps. Both are download speed.

You have to call your ISP and check with them. I have a 4Mbps package and my download speed comes up to about 3.4Mbps.

Many of the servers you contact have low bandwidth or some web sites have many users and your download speed will drop. Also, if more the one node is attached to the modem it will lower your speed. And last but not least it could be a problem with your ISP call them and check if that is the case.
