What do you think Albus Dumbledore saw in the Mirror of Erised?

Question

Do you think he really saw himself holding a pair of socks, or after finishing the series, decided he was lying to Harry all those years ago? If so, what do you think he saw? I'm not sure if JK Rowling has said anything about it so whatever, I'm just interested in your opinion. Explain your decision too, if that's alright.

I think he proably saw himself with his family, afterall him and aberforth didn't get on and his sister and mother died and he was blamed. This might be why he didn't tell harry, becasue it was so similar to what harry saw. 

I also think he might have seen 'the world a better place' if you get what i mean. he was always questing for the ultimate power 'ie. for the greater good letter and him searching for the hallows.'  i think he wanted to become very powerful and possibly saw himself as that...

Actually, Rowling has answered this.

"He saw his family alive, whole and happy - Ariana, Percival and Kendra all returned to him, and Aberforth reconciled to him."

He had a sock fetish. But actually he might have seen himself together with Grindlewald. That was his deepest fantasy.

His sister with him. He saw somebody who was dead just like Harry.
