Male dog peeing on top of females pee?
Hi, we just started fostering a female greyhound. We have already a male greyhound. Both dogs are de sexed and around 4 years. Every time the female dog does a pee, our male dog goes over and pees on the same spot she did. I'm just wondering why he does that? They are getting on fine and she doesn't ever pee over the top of where he has!
Thanks

Because he's marking. By him putting his pee over hers, he's saying that's he's the boss. It's part of the natural canine behavior.
No, of course she doesn't pee over his pee, she's the low man on the totem pole.

It's his way of saying that she is his.
My male does the same thing over my females urine.
He covers her scent with his own.

It's a dominance thing, my dogs do the same thing and I have 4. It isn't / shouldn't become a problem and is normal dog behavior. ^^ And it is not just a male dog thing, I have four females, and they all do it.

It's a male thing....He is asserting his power over the female by covering up her scent
