A year later, who won the Granderson trade?

Yankees- Curtis Granderson

DBacks- Edwin Jackson and Ian Kennedy

Tigers- Phil Coke, Max Scherzer, Austin Jackson, Daniel Schlereth

I personally say Tigers and it's really not even close. This is one time the talking heads were right and the fans were wrong.

Update:

@Yeremian- Jackson was almost ROY last year and has been terrific in centerfield. Saying he's been a nonfactor might be the most idiotic thing I have ever heard.

Update 2:

Schlereth isn't awful either.

Update 3:

@Matty- Kind of but it's true. Granderson has been great for the Yankees. But the Tigers not only got his replacement but they got 2 starting pitchers out of that trade too.

Update 4:

@Jackie- This is true but he's also doing it at Yankee Stadium. Back when he played home games at Comerica, I believe his highest home run total was 30, but that was also the year in which he hit for one of his lowest averages.

And this is just based on the stats. Let's not forget the amount of money the Tigers owed Granderson and Edwin Jackson.

Update 5:

@Yeremian- I wouldn't so non-factor. He has struggled at the beginning of this year, but he's played pretty well recently and was pretty decent last year. Even with all the K's he racked up. But I remember Granderson having the same problem.

The Diamondbacks, IMO. Granderson hasn't done much and all I hear from Tigers fans is how much Coke isn't living up to expectations

Jackson's done really well with the d-backs so far

Tigers. We got a future CY Young contender in Max Scherzer, a good bullpen guy in Schlereth, great defensive fielder in Jackson, and a good pitcher in Coke. Granderson can be up and down. Plus the D-Backs traded Jackson and Kennedy will take some work.

i think of the Tigers are extremely overvalued. They do have a frightening lineup yet i does no longer placed them above manhattan, Boston or l. a. while it includes the entire team. The pitching team nevertheless leaves some question marks... a million. How will Willis, who became widely used or under interior the NL final 12 months carry out interior the greater beneficial AL Lineups? 2. Will Todd Jones stay the closer and could he proceed to prevail with smoke & mirrors? 3. Can Zumaya depart Guitar Hero on my own and stay wholesome? 4. Will Kenny Rogers be triumphant or fall off greater? Now, if all those issues paintings out, they are the gang to conquer, yet i think of putting it the way you probably did is unrealistic. i think of they are going to proabaly win the suitable and end with around ninety 5 wins yet they are nevertheless no longer overwhelming the contest interior the AL. I thnk something in need of ninety wins could be a shame.

    Tigers.

Granderson was injured for over a month last year, so he really didn't do anything. The D-Backs gave Jackson away at the deadline, so they didn't win.

But the Tigers got Schrezer, Schlerath, Jackson and Coke. Coke was a huge part of our bullpen, Jackson was almost ROY, Schrezer was one of the best pitchers in the 2nd half of the season, and Schlerath was also in the bigs for a while.

But I would take Curtis over AJax in a heart beat.

Really... the Tigers only got Scherzer and Coke- the other 2 are non factors. Offensively Austin Jackson is a non factor.

Tigers. It was a waste for Arizona. They got rid of Jackson and got some losers in return. Yanks got a often injured .250 hitter that is only good for defense, HR's and K's. Scherzer has been beast and Coke has done well in the bullpen. Jackson has lots of potential and so does Schlereth.

Little early to make that judgement. Granderson already has 7 dingers ands filled a real need for the Yankees in centerfield.

Yankees, Jackson piles up the K's, Granderson much better offensively, defensively and on the bases, the others involved don't change my opinion.

I think the Yankees did, they didn't give up much and got a pretty good player in Granderson.
