And yes, it is wrong to receive Our Lord thinking He is merely a piece of bread. If you are speaking of Protestant "communion", then it is just a piece of bread, and they don't claim otherwise, but each denomination has its own rules about who should and should not receive.

In the New Testament, the Bible refers to singing, praying, and breaking bread as forms of worship. If you are allowed to sing in church, pray in church, or otherwise worship, you are allowed to break bread.
