Good first alcohol drink?
I'm turning 21 in a couple of weeks and I have never had even a sip of alcohol.
What would be a good first drink?
I do NOT want to get drunk- so PLEASE don't recommend anything with high % alcohol.
This would be like going to (applebees/chili's/ect...) with my bff and having A glass of wine or something like that...
Haha well my birthday is on Sunday/mothers day, so it's not like I'm going out on my birthday, just trying to get some ideas of what actually to try.
I am not in school right now, and living with my parents. My dad is anti alcohol, which is how I grew up. So I'm not like dying to try it, but I really enjoy tea and coffee and think of drinking like I do those.
You don't chug down tea, why should you chug down something that has alcohol? It's for flavor effect, not for the mind numbing dumbness you're left with after.

DON'T drink an alco-pop (Sugary malt liquor drinks with caffeine added such as Four Loko) they can get you really trashed really fast without (doubling effect of mixing alcohol and caffeine) plus they don't taste good anyway.
That being said a fruity cocktail ( various -tinis were suggested by others) is a good idea or a tropical drink like a Mai Tai, Blue Hawaiian, or Pina Coloda would be a great first drink as they are made with lots of fruit juices that cover the alcohol flavor.
I would also suggest a White Russian (Vodka, Kahlua, and milk) or just sipping Kahlua with milk or on the rocks (Kahlua is a coffee liquor that is smooth and sweet, tastes just like coffee, and has a lower alcohol content than most base spirits)

Try some of the flavored martinis like the apple-tini or the chocolate-tini, they have a reputation as a girlie drink but that's because they typically aren't strong, you could also try a washington apple, and if you want to do your drinking at home shop around for wine with a low percentage although it may take a few tries to find something you like

As you will be turning 21 and apparently want to observe it by celebrating with alcohol
BUT you are not planning to get drunk,
Why not champagne?
You can go with a champagne, for a less-sweet taste,
or a sparkling dessert wine like an asti, which is much sweeter.
If you want to stick with a wine, then a white wine, a chardonnay or zinfandel, will probably be more to your taste.

Any RTD in a bottle, I like smernoff double blacks, basically lemonade contains 1.8 standard drinks per bottle. Also try some cider, basically achoholic apple juice about beer strength. If you want to mix stuff yourself buy a bottle of vodka a bunch of different juices and some ice.

Maybe an archers and lemonade with ice? Just a single measure though if you want it to enjoy it not to get smashed off it.

Just take a look through their book of house cocktails and pick one that looks/sounds delicious. You could also ask your server for advice, they would be happy to help you.

get a mikes hard lemonade.. or smirnoff.
or for mixed drinks.. appletini, thats all i can think of right now. but you can always ask the waiter to recommend something for you!
