HELP. Boyfriend is getting circumcised!?

It's due to medical issues, not some weird religious thing, I don't believe babies should be circumcised either so don't rant to me about that :L or if you WERE circumcised as a baby..I know it's really common in America and stuff (I'm from Scotland) so no worries :o please give me some advice. ESPECIALLY people who were circumcised in adulthood after experiencing orgasm.

RIGHT. Everyone says OMG LESS SENSITIVE! I don't know if this is played up due to the debate factor or whatever...I want people who have been circumcised or girls who have circumcised boyfriends etc.

How much longer does a guy take after he's been circumcised?! Right now oral takes like 2-5 minutes...will I have to be doing it for AGES cause it's so much less sensitive? What have your experiences been? How long does it take?!

My boyfriend is also premature...will he lose that? will it all balance out?! D:

SO CONFUSED.

Whoa. Tell him to call off the surgery. It is very, very rare for anyone to NEED to be circumcised. One reason I can think of is if he was chasing a kangaroo naked over a barbed wire fence and had to be cut free, but even then he probably wouldn't lose the whole thing. You've got to remember that NZ and Australia are a bit behind the times, because we've been circumcising much more recently than Europe, most of which NEVER took up circumcision. Having a tight or non-retractile foreskin is NOT a reason to circumcise. It can usually be manually stretched, and the most invasive procedure a man in Europe would get is a preputioplasty, which involves making slits in the restrictive band, NOT removing the foreskin! He really should get a second opinion on this - about half my partners were cut and half not, and I love a man with a whole penis (not that I'm saying you should ditch your bf - ideally just help him keep it!).

Circumcision is a mutilation and does damage to the penis. It will tend to make everything work worse.

The only medical issue that merits circumcision is paraphimosis (also known as pinhole phimosis - where the foreskin only has a tiny hole). If your boyfriend doesn't have that, then whoever told him he needs circumcision is probably a circumcision fetishist (someone who gets sexual gratification from circumcision).

Get a second opinion. Circumcision permanently affects a man's sexual health - and not in a good way.

Definitely be there for him to talk to before and after he has it done. He will probably be pretty scared/nervous. Reassure him that he is doing the right thing and that everything will be better down there once it's healed. After he has it done, help him out during the first few days when he won't want to be too active. Bring him meals in bed, etc. Do not get him sexually aroused until he is good and ready (after several weeks). When it is fully healed, show him you are happy with the result be paying it lots of extra attention!

There usually are alternatives to circumcision. I think circumcision should be a last resort personally. Circumcision is disgusting and no one should have to live with the damage, especially if it is not needed.

There’s no systematic answer. It depends on a lot of factors such as his circumcision type or the way he reaches orgasm.

    - Before my circumcision, oral was quite long. It’s even "worse" now. I still appreciate oral but it’s definitely not the best way to achieve orgasm... for me. It could be very different for him. The paradox is that my GF is more keen on performing oral now.

    - Before my circumcision, my GF wasn’t able to masturbate me to orgasm. It’s now easy, she just has to stimulate what was left of my frenulum.

    - Before my circumcision, I was able to last for maybe 15-20 minutes (at best) during intercourse. I’m now able to last as long as I want. I didn’t expect this kind of control. It also freed my mind : I don’t have to think about other things anymore to prevent fast ejaculation, I only think about my partner now.

I would also say that circumcision slightly reduced my sensitivity but brought me stronger orgasms. Some will react differently to their circumcisions. Every experience is different in this field but don’t worry and be patient : he’ll perhaps need a few months to adjust his new feelings. I was also circumcised for medical reasons and I know it’s not funny but I doubt he’ll regret it. It’s far better to have an embarrassing problem fixed.

Oral will probably take a little longer, and he might have a little more control.

Handjobs without lubricant will be much more difficult.

You might notice more friction during sex, whether that's a plus or a minus, different women have different opinions.

If it's due to medical issues, then just accept it. Wouldn't you rather a circumcised boyfriend, than an unhealthy one?

They're not going to effect orgasm times or anything.

Now, next time, post this in Men's Health. Please.

Male circumcision is not known to affect the amount of time it takes until ejaculation or the effect of an orgasm.
