In many Sates it is tied in to there retirement benefits. The more money they bring in the larger check they get,on retirement. In others the more money Arrest, They don't look at why the arrest. The faster up the promotion list, And the newer cars. So generally they get paid less for putting you in jail. And more in benefits of some type for a speeding ticket. But it is not up front cash. Our police are not crooks. It would be a really interesting defense in some States. Conflict of interest defense on speeding tickets. I think in a class action. You could win. take money time and appeals to the high court.

No. Police are salaried and do not get bonuses for writing tickets or arresting people. They get paid the same amount of money if they arrest one person or 500 people.

No. However, if they're not making as many arrests or writing as many tickets as expected, they could get into trouble, depending on how their precinct handles quotas.

no, salary, but they do have quotas they are supposed to meet idky though. but in other countries it does work like that i think they do that in india
