Should I go officer instead of enlisted?

I am in the Navy DEP program right now, and I have the rate of CTI. My recruiter asked who all took the SAT/ACT and I told him that I have taken the SAT. He said if my scores are high enough, then I might qualify for the NROTC scholarship. Is it a smarter route? Or should I at least try the CTI and try for the STA-21 package?

Not trying to imply that the other answers don't know about CTI but that is a really great rate. I have a college degree (BA) and enlisted Army as a 35 Whiskey which is the direct feeder to Cryptologic Linguist. You will be at DLI for at least a year and will be able to earn your AA there if you stay motivated. Normally the scholarship would be a slam dunk choice but with CTI it is not as an easy of choice. Think your own way through it and realize that either way you have a great opportunity. Hopefully see you in Monterrey at DLI.

Become an officer. Since you have good scores and since you are qualified for a scholarship, it is obvious you become an officer. After, you will be commissioned as an officer

That is a MUCH smarter route.
