I found a lump in my breast the size of a pea.. I went to the GP and he thinks its nothing but wants to see me?
..every two months to keep an eye on things. If he is so sure its nothing serious why does he want to keep an eye on things? He even said if needs be we should do a mammogramm. Should I be happy with this or should I try to get an appointment at the gynaecologist and see what they say?
It might be good to mention that my grandmother on my mothers side also had breast cancer
OK sorry, I am 35 next month....

Sounds like perfectly appropriate actions.
Your Dr is confident that this does not currently seem like a cancerous lump at this time and at your age it is an unlikely diagnosis.
However, they are taking the responsible path of monitoring it in case there are any future changes which may require further action to be taken.
It is quite possible that in 2 months time this will have shrunk or even disappeared.

Always get a second opinion if you feel the need.
I'm sure that if your doctor felt that there was a real chance that it could be cancerous he would offer a biopsy to make sure. There is always a chance of developing breast cancer, though, so he probably wants to make sure that it isn't getting bigger or spreading, which could be a cause for concern.
Remember, Yahoo Answers isn't the place for medical advice. You can't get a second opinion over the internet so go see another doctor if you feel the need and find some support. No woman should have to go through something as stressful as fearing that they could have breast cancer (which I'm not saying you do or don't, I'm just saying it seems like you FEAR you might) without good support (And I don't just mean your bra. (; )

I had a pea like lump on my breast,it kind of moved around under the skin. Doc took a look and thought it was probably just a cyst and wanted to keep an eye on it for any changes. Nothing changed for about a year, then it disappeared. Lord knows where! If you at all worried, ask if you can have a biopsy done on it, and also possibly have a mammogram done, if nothing else it puts your mind to rest. And don't be fobbed off by saying you are too young.

It is good that he is keeping an eye on it. My cousin never went for a mammogram and was diagnosed with stage 4 Breast Cancer. It spread to her lungs and bones....she found a lump, and she ignored it for a year. It is better you get it checked every two months than not.

it is good that he wants to keep an eye on the bump, continueously checking that its not cancerous...
if u feel uncomfortable with him as ur doctor (feeling ur breast/ bump) make future appointments to see a female doctor
