Hi, I'm a recent high school graduate and am taking a year off before school.?

I am moving to Dublin for about 1 - 4 months depending on my cash flow (I'll be in Thailand for three months before) and was wondering what would be the best place to live. All my family lives near Galway and stay away from Dublin so they're no help. I don't want to spend more than 450 euro a month, but I do want to be close to where everything "happens" in Dublin - closer to the "cultural centers" if you will. After all, I won't have a car so I don't want too much of a commute. I'd appreciate any and all help, thank you!

Update:

**450 euro for rent - excluding living expenses.

You can generally get a decent enough flat for 400 a month. You'll need more that 450 if you intend to live as well.

Rathmines. Ranelagh, Phibsboro, Drumcondra, are all nice places to live that are quite central, and reasonable rent with plenty of flats. Sure there are other areas, just know these areas well from either living there, or friends living there. I moved up from galway myself about 6 years ago.

LOL. Good luck finding a show box big enough for your needs.

Galway is nicer than Dublin, and has a great night life, why wouldn't you go there?

You can gert a flat in the High street for 380 per month next to the night clubs.
