Anyone think hitchhiking is still a viable form of travel?
I mean 20-30 years ago i feel it would have been way easier but if i went out and tried to thumb it today think i could still get from A to B?

Yeah, I think so.
I've never picked up a hitch hiker, but I've considered it... So I am sure there are plenty of people that still would.
But I don't know that it was ever that safe an option.

For the most part, hitchhiking just means that you're doing a lot of walking. Most people will not pick up hitchers at all, though I have seen people stop. Usually only cars that have multiple people in them already. I don't think you could do it safely.

Viable yes, very dangerous YES!!! I would not recommend it who knows what either the driver or hitchhiker is capable of doing.
I would not ever do it round up some money and take the Greyhound man, it is cheap and much safer.

In the UK the only hitchers I've seen in the last few years are car delivery drivers heading back to base, waving their trade plates to show who they are.
It's a suspicious old world these days I'm sorry to say.

It'll get you to the morgue a lot quicker than some other methods.

Maybe, but I wouldn't want to risk it. Too many crazy people out there anymore.
