Lien has been paid off. How do I get it removed by the title company?

My ex-partner and I owned a house in joint tenancy. Thru a lawyer we agreed I would buy out his share over a period of 5 years. I have just made the final payment. Now that payment in full has been given/received/acknoledged how do I go about having the lien removed by the title company so I have clear title ?

Your partner needs to sign a "full reconveyance" or a grant deed giving you complete ownership and stating that he no longer has any interest in the property..Then you file that document with your county recorder.

A title company can do this service for you for a small charge and the recording fee.

The title company should send you papers to that affect and they should remove themselves in the sense that according to the county in which the property is located the title should have no liens and therefore you have clear title. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
