I'm writing this for my next door neighbor who doesn't own a computer. I'd appreciate any advice you can share. Her granddaughter is in the process of joining the Navy. Granddaughter (age 22) has filled out all the paperwork,has graduated (with honors) from high school,has no criminal history, is drug free. She has taken the written Navy "test" and got a good (85) score. The recruiter she has been working with says the next step is for him to take her to San Diego for the physical. The recruiter says he will call next week-but never does. It's the same story every week. The girl contacts him once a week and he tells her the process takes a while-to just be patient. The process has been going on for just over 2 months now. The grand daughter is becoming anxious about it because it is taking so long. We know many HS grads are joining the services because there are no job opportunities. What is a realistic waiting period for this ? Most people she has asked say 3-6 weeks. Someone told her yesterday the wait could actually take several months. Any advice or info would be much appreciated. Thanks to all who answer.

My ex-partner and I owned a house in joint tenancy. Thru a lawyer we agreed I would buy out his share over a period of 5 years. I have just made the final payment. Now that payment in full has been given/received/acknoledged how do I go about having the lien removed by the title company so I have clear title ?
