which factor is more influential?

vegetation will cause the particles in the soil to be more loosely packed, which allows a faster infiltration rate. but at the same time the roots will take in water from the soil and interception storage plays a part too, so does vegetation encourage or discourage infiltration?

I'm quite confused about this now.thanks :D

    Vegitation filters and absorbs a lot of water, preventing floods. It's as simple as that, I hope that clears some things up!
