It is snapping fingers at a server polite?
I saw this lady whom was in a hurry snapping her fingers at a server, the server looked annoyed by that action, and told the lady that snapping fingers to get faster service was rude, the lady replied , "I do this all the time, and it is totally ok to do this" and "where I come from ,you snap your fingers at servers all the time" is this polite?

Next time you are in a restaurant, put yourself in the waiter's /waitresses' shoes for a moment. You are on your feet the whole shift, and everyone wants something,NOW! They want you to move Heaven and Earth for them, yet leave some measly tip. Then you have some old cow or a useless waste of life trying to impress their friends or their date by snapping their fingers at you as if you were a personal servant being summoned? Hell no! NEVER mess with the people who prepare your food.

No it's not okay to do it. It's extremely rude, dismissive and arrogant. My daughter is a server and says she purposely ignores people who snap their fingers at her to get her attention...and I don't blame her. It's a restaurant...not a dog obedience class.

No, it's a way to get your server irritated at you really fast. If you want to get their attention make eye contact and raise you hand politely.
