Your question reminds me of the stuff we learned to be able to interpret Richard Nixon when he was President. I remember that there was a dead giveaway that he was going to say something that was an outright lie. He would look straight into the camera and say, "Let me make one thing perfectly clear."

I think that your point about Trump's bankruptcies is worth asking. Maybe it was 'clever business' as another answerer said. But how about the creditors from those companies who went unpaid? And there's his military service record that you question elsewhere. After all, we should weigh a person's integrity as well as his business acumen if we're considering electing him to important public office.

Of course the only place I actually get to see Trump 'at work', or for any real length of time that he's not giving a speech, is on TV's 'The Apprentice'. There, he seems like a well-reasoned and likable person -- tough but fair. So maybe it's just my own prejudice that makes me think there is just something fishy about the guy.
