Is it possible to transfer camera photos to computer without an adapter cable?

Hi, I have some photos on my camera (a Sony Cyber Shot) and want to get them onto my laptop; however the adapter cable which I normally use appears not to be working, as my laptop doesn't recognise it. Have tried with another computer and still doesn't work. Is there any other way of moving my photos to the computer, such as using the memory card?

Thanks!

What you are looking for (need) is a memory card reader. Memory card readers plug in to a available USB port on your computer. You insert your memory card into the Memory card reader and an icon (at least on my Apple) appears on the desk top. Click on the icon and two folders are exposed. One of he folders contains your images. Simple as that!

I wish manufacturers would stop including these camera-to-computer cords as they are a source of much aggravation!

MEMORY card readers for your card (probably an "SD") are about $6.00. Memory card readers for all size memory cards are $10-to-$15.00.

Most stores like Fred Meyer & Target carry these, and of course camera shops.

Yes luetooth would work. The best way to do this would be with a PCsuite depending on your phone model. IF your computer doesn't have bluetooth built in you can buy a decent bluetooth adapter for about £5
