Will these tires work?
I have 265/70R17 tires on my Silverado with aftermarket wheels. My brother gave me his slightly used 235/60R17 tires from his Chevy Equinox. Can I use my brother's tires on my Silverado?

The smaller SUV tires will not have the same ply and load carryng capacity as the originals. Your speedometer will read 5-6 miles an hour fast with the smaller tires.

Yes - however the vehicle will sit approx 1-1/2 inches closer to the ground. The 265 is 31.6 inches in diameter and the 235 is 28.1 inches in diameter.
More power - slightly less gas mileage except when loaded or pulling loads.
Vehicle will be traveling approx 56 MPH when the speedo registers 60.

Yes the tires your brother gave you are smaller than ones you have now. You can always use smaller tires its using bigger ones that cause problems. Will make speedo off will say you are going faster than you really are.
