1994 Ford Ranger ignition problem. PLEASE HELP?

I bought a 1994 ford ranger splash with a 4.0 liter auto trans and 4x4 thinking ti needed a fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump but it wouldn't kick on so I hot wired it and the pump ran fine but will not turn on when the ignition is turned on. I also checked for spark and no spark, I have replaced the fuel pump, sending unit, crank position sensor, ECM, battery, ignition module, ignition coil, plugs, wires, fuel pump relay, what else is there that could be causing this? Like I said there are two different symptoms, one is that the fuel pump is not engaging with the ignition and the other is that there is no spark. I tested the power at the plug to the coil and there is power going to it, it is not the coil because the old one didn't work and the new one just got put on today and still not working. What could it be? I've spent more on parts then I paid for the truck!

Update:

timing belt is there and in time functioning properly, I also checked the fuel pump emergency shut off switch and tested it, works fine. Please leave more details then "timing belt" I'm mechanically inclined but a detailed explanation would be appreciated. Thanks so much

Update 2:

And like I said, there is power going all the way to the coil but not firing, not sure if the current is alternating like it should but there is power there, 11.3 volts and that's right at where it should be during starting, it cut's down to 9 volts after started.

Update 3:

the pump isn't running at all. The emergency shut off switch is fine, it's been tested and works fine.

See if your Ranger had the Ford TFI ignition module that had many recalls. Once you have good spark and timing, the computer will allow the fuel pump to continue to run. The pump should run anyways for 5 seconds or so when you turn the key to "on" (not "start") Put your ear near the fuel fill pipe cap off and a friend to turn the key to on. Look in your manual for the red fuel pump bypass switch reset. Press the red button to reset the fuel pump bypass switch. With good spark, spray starting fluid into the throttle plate air intake. If it starts and stalls, your spark may be ok, but maybe there's a fuel delivery problem. Hook a fuel pressure gauge up to the engine schrader valve and make sure pressure is within a few psi of the specification. Make sure the computer is seeing good oil pressure from your oil pressure sensor. Everything revolves around the OBD-I computer so get an http://www.haynes.com/ manual for your make year model and understand cranking sensor inputs to the computer as well as the continuous sensor inputs when the engine is running. Try reading your OBD-I computer error codes out.

let,s see now. you say there is power to the pump but it,s not coming on? the timing belt would,nt keep the pump from working. if you have power going to the pump then it could be a bad plug-in going to the pump, a bad pump or the ignition switch is bad.

a timing belt wouldn't make it so the fuel pump wouldn't get power id have to guess its faulty wiring somewhere could also be a fuse

this is a test light (15 bucks) solution/get the main fuse and track back with the ignition on and see where the electric stops

before you replace anything try a quick spray of PB Blaster or WD-40 in the keyway, then insert your key and work in and out several times. Works the bigger percentage of the time.
