  • kawasaki vulcan valve trouble. Please help?

I have a 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 vtwin I got for cheap because the motor was locked. Very clean bike under 10k miles so I took a shot. I pulled the motor out which was a nightmare but was happy to see that the engine is free as new except that the front cylinder valves were starved of oil and seized into the valley's. I know a new loaded head would be the right plan but is it worth my while to clean up the old cams and valleys to reuse? And what could have caused this in the first place besides poor maintenance? Which is very well the case

  • Question about an old suzuki motorcycle.PLEASE HELP?

I have an 82 GS450 I've been bobbing but I've ran into a problem. I removed the air box and put on slip on cleaners then removed the air box. I put a slip on filter on the vent hose from the valve cover vent also but for some reason now when the bike is revved up around five grand gas pours out of it all over the motor. Is there some thing wrong or is there something I'm not doing right? It's the vent hose that come out of the top end above the valves. Any help would be great!! Thanks so much

  • bike running funny and sputtering/lack of power?

I have an old Suzuki GS that I just picked up. It ran great I just wanted to toy with it so I did a tune up and pulled out the air box. I replaced it with two K&N slip on filters after cleaning the carb and doing the tune up. It fires up and runs good but there is a slight miss firing sound out of one cylinder and anything after about half throttle is just not there. If I get on it now it just bogs down and sputters. I know that allowing more air in changes the ratio but how do I go about adjusting the jets? It's got the vacuum style slide deals..I read that you shim them or something?

  • Bike won't charge the battery. HELP?

I just got an older suzuki street bike and it runs great but the battery will not charge. I bought a brand new battery but still it will fire right up, I'll go for a ride and it's dead. I know it's something to do with the charging system just not sure how to narrow it down. When running the lights do not dim or change with RPM's so how do I check if it's the stator, regulator or rectifier short of changing them all. Keep in mind it's a $500 bike.. Please help

  • how to lower or drop child support?

I have a six year old that I pay $500 a month on in child support. When it was set I was ok with it because I was getting him every other week however for the last year and a half I've had him three to four days a week every week and every holiday. His mother also moved 70 miles away and I drive 280 miles a day to get him to and from school. I agree completely with supporting ones child but it should be a mutual effort not just an automatic paycheck because I support him as much if not more then his mother and spend an insane amount on travel costs on top of all the things I also have to provide for him as a father. Aside from school costs I don't see a need to continue to supplement her income. Any help would be appreciated

  • Questions about grants for building/buying a home in Illinois/Indiana.?

I am 24 with two children and I am wanting to build a home on my family property or put a mobile home on it or possibly buy a home elsewhere and I am looking for information on how to apply for any government grant or financial assistance programs that may apply to my situation. I make decent money but after child support I can't hardly afford rent for a place and It makes much more sense to pay on something to own verses renting. Just curious what I can do as far as HUD or a grant situation to put something on property out of town, some kind of rural development funding or something. Thanks so much

Would a bad oil pressure sensor cause my Ford to not run?

  • automotive electronics question.?

If you have the positive terminal hooked up but leave the negative unhooked but run a test light between the negative post and the negative cable or any other ground to the vehicle should it light up?? Not between the negative and positive as many will answer, between the open negative post and the unhooked negative cable or ground.

  • 1994 ford ranger problems. I'm stumped!?

I have a 1994 ford ranger 4.0, 4x4, lift kit, super swampers all that good stuff. I bought it thinking it needed a fuel pump but have since put on a new fuel pump/sending unit, crank position sensor, ECM, ignition module, ignition coil, battery, fuel pump relay, EEC relay but still no fuel pump and no spark. The fuel pump works fine but will not kick on with the ignition. I was messing around and put the positive of my battery charger on the positive post of the battery then put the negative of the charger on the ground of my test light, when I touched the test light to the frame or ground of the truck I got enough positive charge through the ground of the truck to light up the test light. WHAT IS THAT! Is it a bad ground or a short? Where do I start? I already checked all the main suspect lines and they are good, is there some easy place to start or some known failure with fords? please help before I but this truck to the ground....

  • 1994 Ford Ranger ignition problem. PLEASE HELP?

I bought a 1994 ford ranger splash with a 4.0 liter auto trans and 4x4 thinking ti needed a fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump but it wouldn't kick on so I hot wired it and the pump ran fine but will not turn on when the ignition is turned on. I also checked for spark and no spark, I have replaced the fuel pump, sending unit, crank position sensor, ECM, battery, ignition module, ignition coil, plugs, wires, fuel pump relay, what else is there that could be causing this? Like I said there are two different symptoms, one is that the fuel pump is not engaging with the ignition and the other is that there is no spark. I tested the power at the plug to the coil and there is power going to it, it is not the coil because the old one didn't work and the new one just got put on today and still not working. What could it be? I've spent more on parts then I paid for the truck!

  • 1994 ford ranger ignition/fuel pump problem...?

I have a 1994 Ford Ranger 4.0 V6 4x4 with an auto trans. I bought the truck knowing it had some issues thinking it was just the fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump but it will not kick on when the ignition is turned on, I bypassed the ignition just to check and it turned on with great pressure, I then checked for spark... No spark... I replaced the crank position sensor and the ECM also thinking it may be a computer problem, still no spark or fuel pump. I'm thinking it may be a problem with the ignition itself but i'm not sure. Also replaced the fuel pump relay and the battery, what else could it be? Any help would make my day.. Thanks so much-Don

  • Finding a property owner?

I found a house for sale I am very interested in but I don't know how to contact the owner. It is out in the country and it's an old house, I know the previous occupants were an old couple because I grew up around there and used to ride my quad by the house a lot in the summer, I know the name on the for sale sign but the number has been faded off as it's been on the house for a few years but I just noticed it was for sale but there are no longer any occupants and very few neighbors who are more then a mile away. Is there some way to find the seller?

  • wanting to set up a mobile home?

I have several acres of land that I am wanting to build a house on in the near future but for now I would like to put a mobile home there just to get the land established and get all utilities ran then live there until I can start to build. The spot I have picked out is about 300 feet from the nearest water main and power line. About how much would it cost to set it up? Just a ballpark within a couple thousand. Thanks-Don

  • first time home buyer..A few questions?

I am interested in purchasing my first home but have very little knowledge about the processes involved.I have a property in mind that is a bank foreclosure and they are only asking $15,500 even though I know the house was bought for $43,000 nine years ago and had a lot of work done to it including a large addition, new roof, new siding, large deck etc.I am wondering what all I would need to take to a bank in order to see about a loan.My credit isn't the greatest but I have around $1,300 for a down payment but I'm not sure how hard it is to qualify for any sort of loan to buy a foreclosure. Please any and all information even info I didn't think to ask please give me a little clearer picture or tell me where to start and how to go about it.Thank you so much
