Buying a salvage title vehicle and rebuilding title?
I live in Illinois and I'm looking to buy a salvage title vehicle to fix up and drive but I don't have any special licence or anything. I'm curious what the process is to buying a salvage title vehicle and rebuilding the title so that it can be plated and driven in Illinois. I'm also curious about buying a vehicle with a salvage title In Indiana but is there any conflict with buying an out of state vehicle and rebuilding it In Illinois? Thanks so much

Are you talking about buying a salvage vehicle and then rebuilding it and then titling it?
If your buying a salvage titled car, then its already gone through the retitling process.
Salvage can be purchased anywhere and rebuilt anywhere. Then after the proper inspections, you can be issued a salvage title.
Just a suggestion: look for vehicles with rear or side damage or roll-over and stay away from the front-end crashes. Its better if the engine and transmission and front suspension were not part of the accident.
