Questions about grants for building/buying a home in Illinois/Indiana.?

I am 24 with two children and I am wanting to build a home on my family property or put a mobile home on it or possibly buy a home elsewhere and I am looking for information on how to apply for any government grant or financial assistance programs that may apply to my situation. I make decent money but after child support I can't hardly afford rent for a place and It makes much more sense to pay on something to own verses renting. Just curious what I can do as far as HUD or a grant situation to put something on property out of town, some kind of rural development funding or something. Thanks so much

There is no free money to increase your families net wealth.

If you are low income and those kids live with you you can rent section 8 property. But if you are not the custodial parent there isn't even that.

If you want to own a home you need to pay for that yourself.

No such programs exist. You CAN apply for Sec 8 housing rent payment assistance, but that is all that is available. There are no programs to 'help you buy' or 'give you downpayment money'. That is not the way this works.

Pretty much no such thing. Try www.hud.gov for any local programs; and try the county community development agencies; it's their jobs to know what might be at a local level

There are actually not any first time proprietor of a house can provide from the federal government. You propose very own loan. The roof does not fall back on the broking. If it grow to be approved at teh tie, then it grow to be.
