Help system security problems (windows vista)?

I have this flag alert in my action center i dont know why but this is what it says.

windows has stopped working at least (1) time caused by 1 or more ad ons that we can not determine...

I dont know what to do my computer has been slow and this flag has been on my bar for months untill i realized it i have scanned with avast and malware and anti spyware.Trying to detect anything since i have high speed internet and fast modem.I have wifi and something is weird for the past month my comp has been slow and cant watch videos with out buffing......

dude iv done all that iv scanned and scanned but idk its fishy that after its all clear i get system security popups. This may have to be some trojans i have i will say iv had about 10 trojans when i didnt have avast but i scanned malware and removed results that where infections.idk what the problem iidk waht ad ons there talking about on maybe enternet.

    -right click the local disk icon on my computer to see how much space you have and erase some stuff you do not use

    - scan your computer if you still can and if it says something about infected items try to remove them or if it doesn't say anything, then whenever the flag pops up then it might be telling you not to go to that site

    -if you havent done this, sence you have wifi put a password on it so other people dont use it and give you viruses

    -and if you already have a virus tyr to remove it fast and if you cannot the take it to a computer shop
