Grunted? Yes of course. I got grunted at all the time.
Okay seriously do you mean, "Take for granted"? If so yes.
I think that when we love someone, and they love us, they sometimes take us for granted. But its usually not long-lived taken for granted.
Its when we're ignored and taken for granted, the feelings of being unwanted and unloved, yes. I've been there in my marriage.
I am not happy when that happens.
When you're with someone, and you're in a serious committed relationship, being taken for granted is the same thing as being used, unappreciated, unloved, unwanted or wanted but only because they can get something from you.
Its when you have those feelings of simply being used, ignored, taken for granted, or all of that AND abused. Yes, that's the most crushing part.
It means someone you love doesn't really care that much for you. You don't mean anything. They don't really want you for you, but for whatever it is they can get from you.
Being akin to a mealticket or worse yet, being told I'm loved and wanted, but find out I'm only serving a purpose - getting the acting job - ugghhh!
I'd rather be away and on my own.
