computers to re-do the system?
if i need a new hard drive because the one that was in it was corrupted with viruses, and i removed the old hard drive , all i need is a new hard drive and a windows 7 disk if that is what i want to put in it , right?? i bought the computer second hand from someone , i knew it was full of viruses and such so i went ahead and removed the hard drive , so i am thinking that all i need to do is replace the hard drive and re-boot it with a new windows 7 disk and anti-virus disk as well
i already removed the old one and trashed it , this person that had it is a fuhk brain and i dont know if there was any illegal crap on it between him and his son together . so anyways i threw it away . so what i am asking which i know i will have to re-install the paks that came with the computer as well like for the monitor and certain drives in it , but all i should have to do is buy a new hard drive and a windows 7 disk because what was on it was vista , and i cant stand that program . so i guess what i am asking is a ""new hard drive and windows 7 disk"" with ""my installation disk's that came with the DELL"""....should be all i need right ???? with a new anti -virus disk AVG or MACAFFE which ever is a good disk i know

Since you DO NOT care for Vista then the answer is YES . You need to do just as you are asking. I had same problem on my kids Comp. and did same thing as you are asking and it works fine now. Best of Luck to you. You "could" try as the others suggested but will have better peace of mind doing it YOUR way.

If you have a Win 7 disk just do a clean install on the old HDD.

You don't need to replace the hard drive, just format the one you already have
