What is your opinion about Anaheim, CA?

Is there anyone who is currently living in Anaheim who could give me a good overall description of the quality of life. Please don't just say bad or good, explain what is good and what is bad. Some areas I am considering are Anaheim, Brea, Yorba Linda, and Fullerton. I will be renting an apartment for now. I can't seem to find an objective review of the area. I've never lived in California, so I am not familiar with the area. Thank you

The job offer is on the table, the question is whether or not to accept it

There is no such thing as an objective review of the area - it's regarding a community = it's all subjective.

MANY MANY PEOPLE have dreams of moving to SoCal. Some enjoy it. Some don't think it's cracked up to what they think it is. How will we know what you think about it.

    - taxes are high, the cost of living is high and the level of services is low.

    - the state is almost bankrupt

    - there are 325 sunny days per year

    - it's very casual

    - you can surf and ski in the same day VERY easily.

Parts of Anaheim are some of the least desireable places of OC. OC is one of the most desireable places to live (so take it with a grain of salt). Brea, Yorba Linda, Fullerton, and the surrounding areas are all nice middle class neighborhoods in OC. To be middle class in OC makes you "the wealthy" in most of the United States.

If you are not going to be earning $75K or more, you have to decide if it's worth it to you....

Anaheim is pretty famous for being the home of Disneyland, the Angels, and the Ducks. However, it has some pretty "gritty" areas. Overall, it's pretty nice. Of course, the 340+ days of sunshine make it nice to live to begin with. Brea and Fullerton are two very nice cities, with low crime rates. Southern Fullerton is a bit lower on the socioeconomic scale, and borders the gritty area of Anaheim. Brea really doesn't have any bad areas. Yorba Linda is the most upscale of the ones you mentioned, and you'd be hard pressed to find anything affordable there.

Remember, you're going to need to make at least $35000 per year to make it here.

    Good luck.

All I can say is I hope you have a job lined up to afford these places because believe me when I say this, you are not going to find a job immediately.
