Should I quit martial arts???!!?
I joined karate for three reasons 1:school 2:to stay fit and 3: it seemed fun.Well i started karate last March 3 i know that i really havent had much time in karate. OK so thing is that I wanted to start karate cuz i needed some for an honor's class i was invited to join. So i got my parents to join me in a karate class. Well turns out i wasnt one of the three people chosen to join the honors club and well now i still receive karate classes. Well im a 14 year old girl. Dont get me wrong i knew karate was not going to be an easy thing to learn. I have managed to get 2 sets of stripesand i need one more to move up a belt, so i dont totally suck at it. Problem is that it is the neighboring town from where i live( takes 10 -7 minutes to get there) so i the kids there dont go to my school. They are nice and stuff but i still dont know them. Reason why i want to quit is the not having any friends to look foward to see in class and because i usually dont want to go to class which has to do with the fact i get kinda lazy i guess. class is from ( 7:30 - 9:00pm) my parents pay money for me to go and well u can say that it is like a waste of money. However whenever i go to class i have fun but then the next day in proccession i dont want to go! i like it but i dont!
Plz anyone! Also people who have some time in karate plz help me decide if i should keep going.Or anyone in fact.

I never made any friend until 6 months after I started. You're still new and because they don't go to your school doesn't mean you can't be friends with them. Most of my friends where I train live nowhere near me. Also, there's always new people coming to join in, so maybe one day the right friend will be there.

I was nineteen when I started. I retired at age 48. It was some of the greatest times of my life! I reached the rank of THIRD DAN BLACK BELT in the summer of 97.I made friends that have stood by me in my most darkest times. Grandmaster's wife calls baby brother. I 've had teeth knocked out, nose broken twice, been knocked out twice, and dislocated an ankle on both sides. Yes there were many times I wanted to quit. The day I cried my eyes out during Promontion Test because young Shawn Reche was killed in a car wreck the night before.I taught him his first form and he was going for his 2nd dan that day. So much pain and so much life. If I would be able to go back and still train I would do it in a heartbeat.

I drive 30 minutes to go to a class where I have no friends because I love the art. If you don't want to, then don't bother.

i say you keep going you may not have friends there at this moment but that will change and its always a good thing to know how to defend yourself just in case anything were to happen
