Does my 2002 Intrepid need to be "rebooted" after a battery change?

I have a 2002 Dodge Intrepid with remote start and door locks. I got a new battery a couple of days ago from a national chain I won't name (rhymes with Tep Toys). After getting my car back I started it and discovered the radio, alarm and door locks no longer worked.

After some arguing and push back from them, they checked and found a number of fuses had burned out during the service. After replacing the blown fuses, most everything worked again, but the locks still didn't work, even using the master switch on the driver's door.

I was told by the service manager to just take my car back to the dealer and have it reprogrammed, there was nothing they could do and this happened all the time. That seemed like a weak excuse to just get me out of the store. I've had the batteries changed before and never had this problem. Were they just giving me a line?

that is possible.... there are certain things that are needed to keep the memory alive...

BUT if this is so, they should know to put a temporary connection to a backup batter connected to

the car while the new battery is being put in.

The fact that a few fuses were blown says they screwed something up. I have changed dozens of batteries and never blew a fuse... I say "Tep Toys" owes you for whatever it takes to "reprogram the car"

No, the only thing you might need to do is set your radio. You had many bad fuses you might have also burned out the power lock relay.

it sounds like they must've put the battery terminals the wrong way on the battery posts which can cause fuses to blow. This is why i will never let anyone change my battery but myself.
