electric problems? maybe?

99 Mustang

Problem is, once in a while (about once a week) when starting the car it will immediately stop attempting to crank for about 1-2 seconds, start cranking up and start right up, and all the gauges will flip from the 0 to full (all the gauges will do this) i have checked the following

Spark

Fuel

Compression

Air filter (New)

Starter voltage (a bit low, but within spec)

tore apart the steering column, everything looked O.K

Battery connections and terminals O.K no corrosion

Checked all the wiring i could, all tight no bad grounds anywhere i can see

No loose wiring

No bad wires

Timing is spot on, chain not worn.

Engine is good, 2 whole cranks no bindings

Computer is good, checked wiring to that as well, its good computer still active

anyone else have this problem and figure it out? it's driving me nuts i've looked just about everywhere i could think of to fix this everything is good and nothing sticks out to me saying "this is the problem" spark plugs are all gapped correctly, i've double checked them now, fuel injectors are firing correctly, i have great spark fuel pressure is almost perfect its 2 lb under average but nothing that signals its wrong, starter is good too the brushes are a bit worn but nothing that won't stand up for another year or so before even getting the idea of changing it its driving me nuts. i think its possible it may be the key FOB as it is the original key FOB from 99, but i'm not entirely sure of the life on the FOB any ideas?

you checked a lot of stuff that would have nothing to do with an electrical problem, ie, air filter, fuel pressure and so on, how about the ignition switch, that seems to be a good place to start

tough one. sounds like u have done it all. my thoughts still goto have u used the proper tool to put a serious load onthe batt. shouldnt go under 9.7 volts whileunder load 14 seconds? the starter maybe the colpurate it coould be worn more than u think. but i would change the starter relay in the pdc. an as u said if your key has a theft chip in it buy a new one an have dealer program it? the device which detects for proper key could be faulty? have u cheked for dtc's in the body controll module, theft alarm module if it applies?the large bright yellow ign. wire is spliced off of mainwire-loose,corroded? ign.module circuitry starting to fail? just some ideas hope it helped good luck...

youve checked a lot of stuff. There may be a dead spot on the armature inside the starter, it might be the starter solenoid is getting worn

Maybe the ignition switch has a dead spot in it.
