Why do people blindly believe the bible, Qur'an, etc without questioning it?
Don't say you don't blindly believe because its the only way to believe in God; since there is no evidence. I just want to know why you choose to do it without rationally thinking about if God can actually exist. Thanks. :-)
The two that answered didn't answer my question but I will ask this to them, do you support the bible? Most likely the answer will be yes. If so, this means you are saying you support things like genocide, slavery, and sexism. Just a side note.

Because blind faith is the best faith :)
I think it is easier for them to be told what to believe by a book or someone (priest etc.) than to think for themselves.
Oh, I'm an Athiest if you haven't already gussed! :D

Dear No Name,
You make a case to be an atheist; and many, if not all, of the questions you have either asked or answered is related to God and other religions. You do no accept personal messages, so I'll just tell you here. In an answer to a question you presumptuously made the following statement:
"If we keep letting God control our lives, it will always suck because the idea of God tells us that we are supposed to be in this crappy world because of our sins. There is no such thing as sin, we give sin that meaning. Like I said, we make everything up. Just a choice dude... Make the right one, to live free, in peace. Source(s): my incredible brain"
Doh! Your incredible brain forgot the most elementary part of belief in God: free will. Although I do agree with your stance of self-appropriating values and meaning (esp. to sin), I want to test that brain of yours--It's not everyday that someone encounters an incredible brain, after all. I'm not here to advocate anything, so just think this over. The topic of God has given you so much purpose on the Yahoo answers community--I'm not sure if you preach atheism outside of Yahoo answers, so I won't jump to conclusions. Isn't this something to think about?

I am inclined to think that most people believe for it was breed into them or a learned behavior, rather than think for themselves and find their purpose in life they opt to take the easy way out. As Voltaire put it if there was no god there would be the need to invent him. Plus really there is only 3 certainties in life, death, taxes, and uncertainty. So my advice would be to keep on looking into philosophy and questioning life and others for no one knows the big questions that we seek to find. Also reincarnation was removed from the Bible allegedly a long time ago, why is this one would undeniably ask? My guess or conclusion is control and manipulation of the masses for their personal gain.

I don't. i have been a student of the Bible for over thirty -five years; and I find it to be the most amazing book ever written. Forty authors writing over the course of 1500 years - and all agree, and all point to one thing - that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Son of God come down from heaven; crucified for sinners, raised from the dead, and the only Source of eternal life for sinners who otherwise are destined to face the wrath of God.
Consider just one evidence that it is the word of God......

God has done too much in my life for me not to believe in Him. :) When I was in the sixth grade, i started doing drugs. This continued until the ninth grade where I was invited to church. I was eventually saved and God helped me change my life completely. :) Its faith that helps me believe that He is real.
