ive started a no sugar/sweets diet. Im on day 5. How long does it take to start seeing weight loss results?

my husband bet me that I cant go 6 months without sugar, sweets, sweeteners. I began on monday, so today is my 5th day. It has been surprisingly easy, and I am hoping that it will help me loose some weight. How long does it take to start seeing results from something like this?

Update:

Thankfully im not a huge carb person in the first place, and if im eating a bread product I (usually) only eat whole and multigrains- whole grain fanatic!! But I will look at trying to keep my carbs down and spread out.

One great thing about low-carb diets is that they make you not crave carbs. Carbs = fat.

I hope that you are also cutting down carbs, and not just eliminating sugar/sweets. The reason is, even carbs, say in the form of 100% whole wheat bread, cause insulin surge and thus weight gain just as if you consumed a cookie.

Here is a cool fact: stevia is the ONLY sweetener known not to do this.

You have to watch out for carbs in the form of fructose! This is the most dangerous type as 30% of it becomes the deadly triglycerides in your liver. Fructose is poison and you should check your ingredients for this, sucrose, and high fructose corn syrup. Watch out for low-fat products. In fact, stay away!

Bottom line: limit carbs to 70-100 grams/day spread over 5-6 meals every 2-3 hours. 1x/week eat high carbs high calories.
