why do most people let good people slip away?
As a nice real compassionate guy i always feel like i should go to great lengths just to impress someone to like me to be friends with. Is this wrong? like when i give that person a huge compliment they dont take that into consideration they just always expect me to do all the work.

If you have to go "great lengths" you might be dealing with someone who is self absorbent. Why try so hard to be friends? That just means you will be trying even harder to keep it together. Let it be natural, it should just flow and not have obstructions.
