Ramadan: What change do you want to achieve in your life, whether small or big?

Asalamu aleikom brothers and sisters,

So after attending an amazing two-day conference with Dr. Reda Bedeir, Baba Ali, and Boona Mohammed about changing ourselves, we were asked to write down 5 things that we want to change about our conduct and inshallah start working on them right away. I thought it would be nice for you to also sit down with yourselves for a few minutes and just think, what do you what to change in your life? Many beautiful answers came up in the conference that reminded me of my own improvements that I need to make.

My question is, what is one of the most things you want to change in regards to your relationship with Islam? I really recommend you write down 5 things for yourself and share ONE of them, so that the rest of us may reflect and also make dua for each other. Keep the other 4 personal.

Also, to help others who might be in the same situation, WHEN are you going to begin this change and HOW are you going to get yourself to change it?

Jazakum'Allah Khair, and may Allah keep you on the path of positive changes!

Update:

PS - None of us here is perfect in order to claim that we dont need to make any changes.

“Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of the people until they change what is in themselves." [Qu’ran 13:11]

Update 2:

Mine is: to teach Quran to others rather than just myself, even if what I know is little. I want to do this today inshallah by revising what I already know so that I can apply it into regular conversations. And inshallah in a few years I would like to teach it to a group of kids on a weekly basis :)

Update 3:

Ruchjat - That's a beautiful change to make, may Allah guide you to it and grant you Jannah with the prophet (saws)!

Qualified - Someone at the conference also hoped for that change, may Allah make is easier on you and all those who want to learn arabic for the sake of Allah!

Seven - mashallah may Allah grant you knowledge, and wisdom from that knowledge!

@Allah is my witness - mashallah to your answers as well, may your Witness reward you! I dont mind that jealousy since the prophet (saws) said 2 types of jealousy is allowed, one is of a person who gains knowledge and uses it. May you also get such wonderful opportunities, ameen :)

Update 4:

Allah is my only hope - I admire those like you who listen to Islamic lectures at home, I like to do that as well. It's an easy opportunity for us to seek knowledge. May Allah keep you on the right path!

    walaikum assalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Hope you are well and in good health!

    Masha'Allah.

I almost envy you for attending those beneficial gatherings! (hope u don't mind this jealousy!)

May Allah reward you for your niyyah (intentions) and sincere actions!

    Ameen.

As always, you post a wonderful question to seek betterment within ourselves and the ummah !

    Alhamdolillah!

    and Jazakallahu khairan dai'mann abadaa!

What do I want to change about myself the most?

The general aim is to become a better muslim and let the change come for the better ALWAYS, but things don't normally go according to plan.

I want to change myself according to the lifestyle preserved in the Quran and Hadith.

In particular, I wish to learn the Quran by heart and later learn the arabic language and devote daily time to study and ponder over the quran and its correct interpretation by the renowned mufassireen.

AND try and bring a gradual change into life (insh'Allah).

When am i going to begin it?

its started already! I am memorizing quran with the will to learn and practise, upon the message enclosed in the GREATEST (LIVING) miracle revealed upon our Beloved Prophet Muhammed ,peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

HOW am i going to get change to come to me?

Sincere Prayers and utmost desire to seek guidance from Allah,

Removing doubts misconceptions relating to my deen,

seeking company of righteous friends and

benefiting from any source of knowledge (books, lectures, audios, etc) which aims to strengthen my imaan and restore my humility to One God.

@asker: was i too 'general' still?

p.s. i Do share your passion to share knowledge of the quran! alhamdolillah! its the greatest deed!

I DO advise you to learn the correct manner of recitation fo the Quran and put urself to daily practise. (in case you don't have done it already! hope u are not offended by this sincere request)

    Hope I offended no one,

in case i did, i sincerely apologize.

Source(s): Awaiting sincere prayers from you! ^_^ Please do remember us in your prayers! May Allah guide us all to the rightful path. i.e. islam as based upon the Quran and sahih hadith. Ameen.

I want to first and foremost learn to understand Arabic.

I read it perfectly fine. But I can't understand, without translations.

So Inshallah, after I get my degree, I'll learn to understand Arabic, the language of Al-Quran.
