Amateur coffee drinker question...?

So, I've never been much of a coffee drinker unless it's coffee that doesn't taste like coffee, haha. But I'm very slow to wake up and get started in the morning, which is really hard, as I have a new puppy that needs walked in the morning. So I was thinking maybe a cup of coffee in the morning would help perk me up, but I don't like traditional coffee. So does does anyone have any suggestions about good coffee? Also, it has to be a variety that doesn't require a fancy coffee machine, as I don't have one of those new fangled things. Lol.

    Get a french press; all you need is boiling water & 4 minutes and you have some of the best coffee possible.

    If you want to try it without buying anything, you can do this:

    take a steel/enamel cooking pot

    measure cold water into the pot (6oz = 1 coffee 'cup'/serving)

    bring to a boil and remove from heat

    add 2 tbsp coarse-ground (fresh ground is best) coffee to the pot

    let steep for 4 minutes

    pour through fine mesh strainer or paper filter and enjoy.

    If it's too rich for you, you can add hot water to your cup.

    You can add cream/milk and sugar (or honey), but I like good coffee black.

    Source(s): I roast my own beans and have seven ways to brew coffee.
