Am i too old to start a band?

Your not to old but before you start make sure everyone in the band is in it for the long run. Everyone should know what every band member wants out of the band. Alot of bands crumble b/c members either go to college or get a job. Its going to be hard to get famous in 3 years if your music is amazing or you can sell out and make "radio music".

If the band thing doesnt work out you can always play in the live band for rap and pop concerts

If you start a band today, it would be atleast 4-5 years before you get noticed.

You're 17, you're young. Just forget about being famous and go make music.

PS. I know of a band formed in 2009 where the vocalist-guitarist is now 27 and the bassist and drummer are both 20.

No, but you can't be famous that fast. Everyone starts at ground zero, and I suggest you start now. Like, post videos on you tube. Most bands have members that are in their 20's and no, you're not too old for them. Good Luck!

why dont you want to get famous when your 25? are you not going to need money at that point in your life or do you plan on dying when your 24?

if im 27 and im not too old to make my own music, then you aren't too old to make your own music. i know countless people who are older than me and in crappy garage bands, and there's countless examples of people who didn't get discovered until their 20's, 30's, 40's

You do know that most rock bands get "famous" when they're around mid 20's or sometimes even later right? Only disney pop stars and actors get famous before 20... lol.
