Given the amount of support areas of the north get from central government in London Yorkshire would probably be a lot better off being independent

Yorkshire has always been it's own country in everything but name.
42 years ago (I was 14)... we were traveling for a family holiday in Scotland, and stopped for lunch at a restaurant in Yorkshire. The owner was very friendly and asked us where we were going. When we told him, he beseeched us to leave all our money with him for safe keeping, and pick it up on the way home!
By the way... and as a 'softy' southerner... I still serve a proper Yorkshire Pudding (crispy edges and a doughy base) as a starter with lashings of rich beef gravy!

No, we should not even be thinking of breaking England up,
What England needs is it's own Parliament,
England is the only Country in Europe that does not have it's own Parliament, there is no voice for England,

To be honest the South East, Greater London, South west and East of England should declare its self independent from the rest of the UK. We would be so much richer... it would be incredible.
