I find it easier to solve these problems in terms of sines and cosines.
1/cos(x) = sec(x)
and sin(x)/cos(x) = tan(x) <==== things you should know to solve this problem.
(sin^2x)(1/cosx)=sin(x)
divde both sides by cos(x)
sin^2x=sin(x)/cos(x)
as a trig property sin(x)/cos(x) = tan(x)
therefore sin^2x=tan(x)
