I'm tired of all this Tax arguement, why doesn't the USA go back to the Taxation levels?

Of those under Republican President Eisenhower?

After all, this is the time period of "Happy Days". Everyone seems to be pandering for the "Good Old Days" when America built quality products, when we built our interstates and this WAS the Greatest country on planet earth.

Because that would mean the rich would actually have to carry the same economic burden as the working class and that doesn't fit the current narrative.

A flat tax is a stupid idea too. It would just place an even heavier burden on the middle and lower class.

"Why is it fair that the top 10% have to pay over 60% of the taxes?"

They own 75% of the wealth. The fact that they're only paying 60% of our taxes is criminal.

Because taxation in this country was never fair or just. That is what Dems always complain about isn't it?

How does a Flat tax NOT seem fair and don't give me that weak a$$ argument about "the poor are hit harder by a flat tax" when that isn't the issue. THE ISSUE is fairness. Why is it fair that the top 10% have to pay over 60% of the taxes?

Oh! You only like your vision of fair, not the actual term.

How about one flat tax? Make it whatever it comes out to to equal the revenue the government gets now.

Corporations and people pay the same rate. ALL OF US.

    10%. 15%. 5%.

I don't care what it turns out to be. But no tax deductions. No loopholes. No "You don't need to pay because you're poor."

Same for everyone and every company. Simple. And we could get rid of the IRS.

Good idea but it will never fly with our republican brethren who do understand the demand side of the supp;y/demand equation. Probably the result of home schooling

Because your leaders are more concerned about pleasing Lobbyist, the ones who donated money so, they'd get that position. It's not about fairness, it's about treading water but, don't make any political waves.
