If your baby had a fever a few days after getting bit by a spider would you assume the two are related?

He's 16 months. It *could* be from teething, but I can't help but wonder?

Is the spot where your son got bit red, swollen or warm/hot to the touch? If so, that could indicate that the wound is infected. That could also indicate that your son's fever is directly related to the spider bite because a fever is a sign that the body is fighting off infection.

If you're worried about it, like I would be, I would give your pediatrician a call. That is what they are there for. No question is ever a stupid question either.

Go ahead and call the doctor about it.

It could be an allergic reaction.

It would be helpful to your doctor is you know what kind of spider it is.
