• I'm a police wife and the SAHM of Caitlin, Alden, and Rylan (yep, the chaotic but fun 3 under 5) • Parent how you please. I have my own personal parenting beliefs just like everyone else. Everyone has their own opinion and people need to respect that. • I welcome contacts, but prefer that your e-mail me first just so I know :)
Any suggestions for keeping a very active child amused and "still" for the next few days?
My 4 year old had an accident on a play structure that required stitches on his forehead. It has been undertaking to get him to cooperate with the healing process :)
He's bored of snuggling and reading, and bored of tv. Any tips for keeping an active kid calmly entertained? No running around or play at his usual level of activity.
5 AnswersParenting7 years agoHow to politely refuse a baby shower?
This is my third and last baby. I had a shower with my first. Now that I have told people this is our last child they are getting all into the idea of throwing me a final shower of sorts, but really I have almost everything I need and while I appreciate the thought, I would prefer they not. These are some girl friends and a SIL who refuse to take no for an answer. Any help?
5 AnswersNewborn & Baby10 years ago12 weeks and suddenly having night sickness instead of morning sickness?
I thought it would end soon! :( lol. This is my third pregnancy and I always had morning sickness with each baby. With my last pregnancy it literally lasted all day. This time around it's been ok, but starting a few days ago I have woken up at around 3am with the urge to vomit, and I do. Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice on how to nip this in the bud if possible?
2 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoHeartburn or acid reflux when I lay down for bed?
I'm 7 weeks and a few days along, so early into my third pregnancy. I eat dinner at around 6pm, have a snack like a bowl of cereal at around 9, and am in bed by 11. Come bedtime, I start getting pretty bad heartburn and this very unpleasant acidic feeling in my throat. Does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of this? My morning sickness is bad enough :p
6 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoToddler complaining of itchy ears (ear infection?)?
My daughter is nearly 3. This morning she was complaining that the inside of her ears itch. She had a couple ear infections as an infant but has done well as a toddler. Is this a symptom? If not, what causes this?
5 AnswersToddler & Preschooler10 years agoIs anyone pregnant with their third child/anyone due in April?
Just got my BFP this morning. I can't believe this is actually here, lol. We've settled on 3 children so I plan on enjoying this pregnancy as best as I can, but I'm also nervous because my last pregnancy was absolutely horrible, I was sick until he was born.
3 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoHow can I keep bees away from my raspberry bushes?
I know they're necessary for pollination and all, but I have too many bees in my garden- meaning I can barely go out there and pick the berries. Any advice?
8 AnswersGarden & Landscape10 years agoParents of boys, how old were they when they were potty trained?
My 18 month old son is showing zero signs of readiness at this point :-/

1 AnswerNewborn & Baby10 years ago17 month old always throws up after eating eggs?
Well, scrambled eggs, omelette's, etc. He eats egg white just fine. Is this a common sensitivity in babies/toddler? Is this something he might outgrow?
7 AnswersToddler & Preschooler10 years agoParents of 2-3 year olds, how clear is your child's vocabulary?
Do you still have trouble understanding them or do they speak mostly clearly?
16 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoHow old was your child when they experienced their first major injury?
Fathers day was kind of a disaster for us yesterday. While visiting my in-laws my daughter (almost 3) was running on their patio and fell, busting her lip after biting through it. She now has 4 stitches in her lower lip, my poor bug. How about your kids?
8 AnswersParenting1 decade agoPeople are too strange... should I change my avatar?
My avatar photo is of my baby's sandy little feet at the beach. I thought it was an artistic picture. But now I have received 2 different messages from umm foot fetish people? Requesting more baby foot photos. Weird, right?
BQ: Why did you choose the avatar photo you have?
14 AnswersParenting1 decade agoHow would a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited work with 3 small children?
I have a 2007 Grand Cherokee but want something a bit bigger. I like the Unlimited's but my concern is how well they would accomodate (3) car seats? If this is a terrible idea, can anyone recommend another model? I love Jeeps the best.
3 AnswersJeep1 decade agoWhat car would you recommend for a family with 3+ kids?
NOT a minivan!

Would you be comfortable with your child going to a birthday party with a bounce house? (picture for those confused: http://www.countywiderentals.com/images/queen.jpg)
For my daughter's third birthday I'd love to rent one, but not if people wouldn't want their children going in one.
7 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoHas anyone experienced a family member naming their child something similar to your child's name?
My SIL is expecting and doesn't know the sex yet, but if it's a boy she has chosen Caden, which I find unfortunately close to my daughter Caitlin's name. It's my husband's brothers wife so they will have the same last name as we do. I'll keep my annoyance to myself, lol, and hope for a girl :)
15 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoHow do you deal with a wiggly baby/toddler at the grocery store?
My 16 month old is like an octopus, lol. Even though I have him strapped into the cart seat, he still tries so hard to wriggle free and he is also always trying to grab things off shelves. How do you keep your sanity when shopping with a child who acts like this?
Oh, and letting him walk is not an option...
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoParental geniuses, I need help with my monkey of a 16 month old?
Alden loves climbing things. First it was the tub, then the crib, etc. My biggest battle lately is keeping him still in shopping cart seats. Yeah they have straps, but he still wiggles and tries so hard to escape. It makes shopping erm... unpleasant. Any suggestions?
4 AnswersParenting1 decade agoIf your baby had a fever a few days after getting bit by a spider would you assume the two are related?
He's 16 months. It *could* be from teething, but I can't help but wonder?
