Parents of boys, how old were they when they were potty trained?
My 18 month old son is showing zero signs of readiness at this point :-/
My daughter was 22 months when she was completely out of diapers, so maybe I just got lucky with her!

My son fought tooth and nail until he was three and a half. He didn't even want to go into the bathroom to bathe unless the toilet lid was down. My husband had been either deployed or on an unaccompanied tour almost continuously since our son son was six months old. He came home days after our son was three and a half, took him in the bathroom, and the boy was out of diapers entirely in less than a week.

My son was 2 when he was potty trained. He may be ready in a few more months, but you should at least notice him noticing when he is urinating. I think now is a good time to at least put the potty out and let him get acquainted with it, let him sit on it, and even though it can get messy, let him get a feel of what it is like to go without a diaper. I think that the time to push it is once his language improves enough for him to know the words to communicate when he has to go.
I've always heard that boys are difficult to train compared to girls but outside of a few accidents without diapers or pull-ups it wasn't that bad. I also put cheerios in the toilet to help him with his aim!! Good luck!!!

Well 18 months is too early to me to be showing signs. My 23 month old son doesn't even show signs. Most kids start to potty train around 25 months to 4 years. He will let you know when he's ready :)

I got him a potty when he was one, just to play with. When he was two I quit buying diapers, put the potty in the bathroom, and redirected him back to it each time he had an accident. So he was two.

Not to scare you, but he wasn't trained during the day until a few months shy of age 3. At night he wore pull ups, stopped using those when he turned 4.

My son is two and turning three in december and he is completely potty trained. I started potty training him when he just turned two and he's barely had any accidents.
