I dont like minivans, no offense to anyone who has them but they are just plain ugly in my opinion, me and my husband have five kids, so we have seven people in our family, we I had to put a lot of thought into this when we were getting our cars. We have a 1967 camaro, my husband and a friend found it in a junk yard and he made it his mission to fix it, it originally had four seats, but he took out the back and put in three seats, so now it fits five, it doesnt fit our whole family, we mainly use it if we're going on little trips and the whole family isnt coming, its a great car and it fits five, so it would be fine with a 3 kid family. Our family car is a 2006 Jeep Commander, which has seven seats and is perfect for us, it fits all of us, plus any luggage, comfortably, and it looks like anything but a minivan.

Is there a rational reason to 'no minivan' or are you just against them? I mean, if you're against a minivan because of the size, then I can't recommend a normal van or even most SUVs. If you're against it because of the gas consumption, then I can point you to certain cars that have more passenger seating and get at least 25mpg.

But if you're just a baby who screams at the thought of being in a minivan because you think the car defines who you are... then I suppose an SUV or Sedan would work for you.

Add: Here ya go. A Prius, if they eventually give us the third row option like they're doing overseas.

Add: See, to me I want a car that gets the job done, gets as best gas mileage as I can afford to get, and that has room for my kids and eventually more kids. Honestly it could look like a rolling turd and I wouldn't care so long as it got the job done.

i could get a Chevrolet Traverse (7 to eight) or a Honda Pilot (7 to eight). I even have driving force the Traverse and enjoyed it. yet my spouse has a 2005 Honda Pilot. The Pilot is stable, comfortable and isn't any longer too huge (comparable with traverse). additionally, the Ford side is a small SUV type, seats in basic terms 5 yet is spacious.

Since you need at least two car seats, you have to have a car with third row seating. Here's a link to a list I've found of cars, I'd recommend the Subaru Tribeca. Subaru's are great, they're well made and are in the top in safety ratings. The only issue with them is they're hard to find used.

well guess what, buying anything else besides a minivan is a terrible idea. SUV's, even "seven seaters" dont have much space in the back if you have the back row up and you have no trunk space for your childrens accessories such as strollers. a minivan has enough room in the middle and back and adequate trunk space.

Chevrolet Traverse. Comfortable, pretty to look at, functional, and not hugely expensive.
