Heartburn or acid reflux when I lay down for bed?
I'm 7 weeks and a few days along, so early into my third pregnancy. I eat dinner at around 6pm, have a snack like a bowl of cereal at around 9, and am in bed by 11. Come bedtime, I start getting pretty bad heartburn and this very unpleasant acidic feeling in my throat. Does anyone have any tips on how to get rid of this? My morning sickness is bad enough :p

My doctor told me to keep tums on my bedside. It really helps.

Most of the time heartburn during pregnancy is caused by the uterus pushing on the stomach and causing stomach acid to rise into the esophagus. So other than what you're doing, there isn't much you can do about it. As long as you're pregnant, it'll keep happening.

Drink a glass of water with every meal, which will dilute your stomach bile and help prevent acid reflux. That's what I read anyway, and it seems to work--pregnant or not.
