Toddler complaining of itchy ears (ear infection?)?

My daughter is nearly 3. This morning she was complaining that the inside of her ears itch. She had a couple ear infections as an infant but has done well as a toddler. Is this a symptom? If not, what causes this?

Probably not. Ear infections are usually in the middle ear and are quite painful. Itching may be that she has some wax in the ear canal. You can peek in there and see if she has a visible wax buildup, but don't try to get at it yourself. If you can see wax in there it may be worth a trip to the doc to clear it out. It is also possible for the eustachian tubes to itch - this is the part that goes between the ear and the throat, to allow you to equalize pressure. If she is having any allergies this area can become itchy and she may describe it as inside her ears. If she has other allergy symptoms - congestion, red eyes, itchy throat, or sneezing - you may want to ask your doc and see if she might be helped with allergy meds.

Your canine the two has a yeast or bacterial an infection. cleansing them frequently is a sturdy start up yet to whip the challenge you quite need to get meds from the vet. there is not any effective homestead remedies. upload: * Clueless is unquestionably clueless! by no skill placed peroxide in a canine's ear! additionally, purely given which you will get a med without prescription would not make it an suitable decision. Ear meds (or the different) with steroids (hydrocortisone risk-free) should not be used without vet's suggestion!
